you seriously need to contact your postmaster...
we haven't had a regular mailer carrier in over a year...our's retired due to health issues. We get our mail sometimes at 7 pm. Other mail carriers pick it up as an extra route.

Kudos to Keepsake Quilting.

My mailman won't pick up outgoing mail in the box. Have had to pay late charges as he left them in the mailbox and we didn't pick up the mail until next day and found them still there. Complained, and they said I was not the first, but happened again. Now have to go to post office on other side of town to mail anything.

And yet the postal service says they need more money, for what! It appears they aren't giving the service they should and I would definitely talk with my local postmaster in charge and if that doesn't do any good write to the next guy up or to the Postal Office head honcho! The squeak wheel gets the grease. Fortunately we have a good regular mail carrier and a good substitute carrier as well as a great local postmaster. We are blessed compared to what I am hearing from others. It sounds like the carriers are getting by with the least work they can and the postmaster doesn't seem to care that they aren't doing their job either. YUCK!

Don't even get me started on our mail carrier -- well, she has been better in the last year. She did the exact same thing to me as well as other people in our neighborhood -- stopped delivering our packages. I did complain to the Postmaster and he asked all kinds of questions about our neighborhood -- how far from the mailbox etc. It's not like I have a long driveway with a mailbox at the end. No, we have "cluster boxes" and to get from one cluster to the other you have to pass by every single house in the neighborhood. The postmaster came out and looked at the situation and now she has started delivering our packages again. She is so grouchy and downright mean sometimes, I don't want anything to do with her. She drops the outgoing mail on the ground and we find it and "remail it". Isn't that also a crime??? Mishandling of US mail???

Anyway, glad that your situation worked out well!

We have a great mail carrier and alternate carrier now, but it wasn't always that way. At one time while I was selling on eBay, two payments mailed to me in properly addressed envelopes were returned to the people who sent them, stamped "No such address."

One of the buyers enclosed the envelope that had been mishandled when she sent payment again. I took that envelope and an email from the other buyer with me to the main post office and filled out a complaint form. We had a different carrier on our route very soon.

The funny thing was that she must have been mis-sorting lots of mail, to have enough left at the end of the route to justify buying a "No such address" stamp. The postmaster said it wasn't issued to carriers.

Our postal service is like that as well, I've had boxes just left on my front step that are supposed to be signed for. I've had those second notices about a package pickup when there was no first notice to start with. I had my passport returned to the Passport office and had them call me and verify my address there was never any notice left about that envelope.

It's good to hear that Keepsake was willing to ship it back out at no charge, I went to they're store last summer and found everyone to be very helpful.

Your delivery person is not fullfilling their responsibilities of being a postal worker. I would let your local postmaster know as well as tell the regional manager. there are lot of people out there who can take over that job and do it well. that person does not deserve the job.

Kuddos to KQ for reshipping the package for free!!

Great about KQ but rasberries to your postal service. They should be reported for their lack of service. No wonder they are bankrupt!

Not to be a huge defender of the post office, but I once sent a package to my nephew UPS (a quilt) that he never got. When I called to ask, they had attempted delivery three times. He wasn't home because he was at work--driving a truck for UPS.

No one's perfect.
