I like the blue. The orange pulls away from the design.

dark blue. Actually makes yellow in quilt pop! With other yellow/orange your eye re drawn to the border not the inner quilt.

I think that a child would like the orange border. It is cheerful. I suspect that it matches better in person than it does in a picture. You did say that it matches his feet. Save the blue for the binding.

The orange looks so bright and cheerful. I'd work yellow and white polka dots in there somehow just for an extra
dash of "happy".

I thought I would prefer a yellow as well, but I thought we could only pick from the orange or blue. If you can find a yellow, try that.
