    Default Interfacing and hand quilting

Hello! I am going to be using interfacing for the first time on a quilt that I am starting. When I do my quilting I do it by hand. (I usually like to watch TV and quilt - sort of relaxing for me) Will the interfacing make it more difficult to hand quilt my project?

It could, depending on how heavy an interface it is. Why are you using an interfacing? Is there a knit in the quilt and your are trying to keep it from stretching out of shape? Or do you have a fabric that frays easily like a metallic lame' fabric? Or a really thin fabric that you want to reinforce and prevent "shadowing" of the seam allowance? I think if you use the lightest weight one you can you should be ok. It might be a little harder to needle so you may not be able to load as many stitches on your needle as you normally would. If it is a knit involved you might not be able to take as small a stitch.

Thank you for your reply.....I am going to be using different fabrics and I am mainly going to use the interfacing on some Tshirt material - - I want to do what I can to keep these blocks from stretching. I have purchased Lightweight and medium weight interfacing because I was not sure which would be best. Maybe the lightweight will work for my quilt Good point about the larger quilt stitching on the knits.. I will keep that in mind
