Battle Axe

I just had a Rowenta iron disintegrate in my hands. I now have four pieces. I can't seem to get everything back together. It is a Professional Luxe.

Any suggestions??

I keep everything unplugged that I can. I work for a volunteer fire department and have seen too many houses burn to the ground. It is very scary and sad.

Same thing happened to my cousin with a Black and Decker coffee maker with the timer/clock. It burned and included their cabinets VERY QUICKLY. Made me never buy the timer/self starting ones again. SO SCARY. I hate to even leave my house with floor or window fans going. And never leave with a clothes dryer running.
Thankfully you were there and kept after it. AND you contacted the manufacturer. :)

Wow. Like you said, how fortunate that you were home. I've got an auto off as well, not Black and Decker though. I keep it plugged in while working on a project, but unplug and put away when done or unplug it when leaving home or going to bed. Glad that you are safe and sound.

I hardly ever unplug my iron but will do so now!!!!!!!!! Does all your fabric smell smoky? and everything else???

I have the same set up.I always turn my iron off then the power strip. But I still worry a little.We had a fire in our kitchen from a toaster that didn't pop up and no one noticed. It destroyed our kitchen. Sometimes I can still smell it. Glad you are ok.

I had a similar experience. I came home to find my iron plate melted onto my board. Luckily, no fire. So scary, glad you are fine.
