It's Virtual Quilt Weekend

This wasn't exactly in my plans for today, but while trying to clean up my sewing room I found the stack of fabric I had put aside for this quilt. Given the options of cleaning and playing, the choice was easy
I added an additional two rows to this quilt after I took the photo, because it's for my son and he is *tall*.
Of course, my sewing room doesn't look much better than it did. And I still have a stack of work to long arm. So I'm heading downstairs for a bit, before this quilt takes over my life

This is a kit I purchased on my trip to Denver last week. The fabric was prepped and cut yesterday. After playing with the grandkids this morning, I have the half square triangles pieced and ready for pressing. This is such a simple quilt! I fell in love with the color combination. The background is a linen like fabric and the blues are all plaids.

I finally finished putting together the binding for the wedding quilt that I have to finish. The binding is a mixture of the fabrics used in the quilt, on the front, with a 1/8" black reveal and black on the back. For some reason my brain just could not wrap its head around the math today and I wasted a bunch of time. Then, I was ready to monogram the label onto the binding, but couldn't find my iron on stabilizer. Guess I'll have to pick up some more tomorrow.
So all in all, a weekend well spent. I have enjoyed looking at all the projects and following everyone's progress.

Here are my four-patches done and the quilt top laid out. Probably won't piece it together until later in the week. The fabric is Robert Kaufman's Imperial Collection (#9 I think). I love all the gold in it. I have a couple borders I'm going to put on as well.
I'm turning off my computer for the night so will check back in in the morning to see how everyone did. Thanks again for joining me and inspiring me to get my butt in gear and quilt! And I'm thinking I may want to do a bargello one of these days....
Next Virtual Quilting Weekend will be June 6-8. Hope to see many of there!
