Janome 6500 lots of bobbin problems
Not sure what is happening with my Janome lately. Two weeks ago had to replace the bobbin winder. My repair guy said this is very rare. Now my bobbin thread is not catching when stitching. I don't think it is winding correctly on the new winder. I own this one and the 3000. At Christmas I was thinking of getting a Juki TL2010 but now wondering if I should trade this one in and get an upgraded Janome. Not sure if I want another one or go for a Baby Lock.
As you can tell, I am confused.

You must have just gotten a troubled one... so sorry. I have owned two Janome machines and I love them. The first was a Memory Craft 8000 that I used completely up... It took me 20 years, but it finally died. The latest one is the Janome DC5100. It's a perfect little machine for piecing quilt tops. Good luck finding something you will love. There are a lot of good ones out there!

I too had huge bobbin issues among other things with my Janome 6500. My machine (although I know lots of quilters who like them) should have been painted yellow! I now have a Juki (same as you are considering) and absolutely love it! It just sews and it is fast and powerful. No more jumping rattling bobbin cases, veering off seam junctions, munching fabric, feed dogs that won't move up and down etc. I don't think that you will be disappointed and it walking foot quilts and FM quilts beautifully. I also love the extra long stitch length and two automatic thread cutters.

Thank you for your responses. Much appreciated and to know I am not alone. I have had the 6500 since it came out. I upgraded from my 3000 right away. I will go back to the 3000 for a while as I figure out what to do. Up to a month ago I would have bought another janome.
You are right - my bobbin case jumps all around now too.
