Here's my latest practice piece for FMQ.

What do you think...I've got a few long stitches along the curved areas...on the back. Would appreciate info on why that happens. I used about 30 sandwiched pieces. All comments/suggestions/tips are welcome.

I didn't do, today, what I said i would. I got side tracked making gift tags/ornaments. I'm trying to adapt a pattern I bought from Piece By Number. The rejects go on my tree ;-) I haven't done french knots in years! Looks better than using a marker, I think.

So far I haven't even looked at my sewing machine. The daughter and I are currently brainstorming some ideas she has for quilts though.

I have finished all my clue 3 units for Celtic Solstice....100 Half square units and 25 pinwheels...I had to square them up slightly and what a royal pain of a job that is...they look pretty good if I say so myself....I am waiting for the Tri Rec rulers so I can finish week one...
I also got a lot done on the grandmother flower garden...all the flowers.148 of them ..and now I am plebbling the white path...that is going to take me forever...I had a very busy quilting day...it is snowing (and freezing too) like crazy here so I am not leaving my house...

What beautiful projects....my efforts this weekend are extremely humble in comparison. Here's the couch quilt....all I used was a batik sarong (charity shop around $2.00) a cotton mattress protector from way back when my kids were small (now in their 20's). I am sorting the linen cupboard so thought I'd utilise the rejects. The back is a vintage sheet which was in a bag of remnants from a charity store. The quilting is really simple just followed the lines on the sarong. Anyway, serves the purpose and sort of fits with the old cushions and the eclectic decor (probably a bit of a push calling it decor.....our house and it's contents just sort of evolves).

Tapper your FMQ is really good....my last attempt wasn't half as good. Must keep at it and hopefully I'll improve. Now for the Wagga (Aussie Utility Quilt) I am again using salvage/remnant stuff.

Sorry to hear about your pinched nerve. Have you ever tried BioFreeze? We use it constantly for aches and pains. I especially like using it on my arthritis fingers. Currently I am applying it on my DH's back several times a day.

Somewhere amidst the birthday sleepover (14 year old boys), baking cookies for our church Christmas party, going to the party, shopping for our angel tree and cleaning my house for the realtor to show, I found time to sandwich and sew a couple of seams on a whole cloth quilt I am making for DH. Hope to finish t tomorrow and will post pics then.

Attended the 'Quilt In' at my church today. Several quilts were finished. I brought the quilt top I was working on home to complete for next month's Quilt In. It is so much fun to get together with other quilters.

I took photos on my new iPhone. Hopefully tomorrow I can try to upload them to show you.
