She paid retail? She's either very foolish or thinking her customers are. 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-)

THe 98Q we were told is no longer being made so that is why there is now the 2010Q. That is what we got at sewing machines plus. But they hae problems with parts missing so make sure you get everything that is called for when you receive it as it is a great machine. Didnt know Ken's had it as ordered two machines from them and they have great service!

The Juki 2010Q and the 2000i are 2 different animals. The 2000i is made for internet sales and has some differences, which I don't think it has the speed control.

The 2010 has to be had from a dealer. I got mine from raicharts.com No sales tax and free shipping. You just have to pick up the phone to order it.

Make sure you get the machine you think you are getting.

Love my 98Q. It is a workhorse! I've been teaching my sisters and bff to sew and they love it too. We are averaging about 3 quilts a week.

Be sure to oil and clean regularly- mine loves to be scrubbed behind the ears or it gets cranky and lets me know its time.

I think I had price them out before buying.
You may find a better deal!
    Good luck!

I don't think you can go wrong with a Juki. They are really good machines.

I would hesitate from buying from Kens at any price. I had A LOT of trouble trying to order this machine from him and a lot more when he sent me the wrong machine (a Janome!) and I had to send it back. There were also issues about which Juki he would sell me. For his price of the 2000qi, which has less feet and features I was able to get the 2010Q. I felt I was mislead. (This is the short version of that story!)
I got a great deal and great service from Raicherts. Call and ask for Jason.
