We were recently on a Scandinavian/St Petersburg cruise and I was taking pictures of the floor designs and ceilings for quilt inspiration

I have taken pictures of floors and walls in Turkey, Russia, Peru and a few other foreign places. My husband was a math PhD, so he picked up on these designs and patterns right away.

I too have taken pictures of floor tiles in other countries. Not so much in USA because I don't come across them much. Remember the movie with the line "I see dead people"? I see quilt patterns for either piecing or quilting!!

I have seen pretty designs in wooden floors but never have taken a picture. Zozee-you could have taken a picture and as the camera clicked you could have sneezed or something to disguise the sound of a camera taking a picture. LOL

I have saved pieces of toilet paper because of the design. How crazy is that!

Sewingsuz, you made me laugh out loud at the idea of saving toilet tissue for the quilting design. Now, of course, I will be looking at my tissue as well. I love the quilting design dishes. Oh what fun! Zozee, I can only imagine your distress at wishing to take a photo of the bathroom tile, but re-thinking how it would look.

From floor tiles to ceiling tiles, our quilted brains find inspiration to make a pretty design. I once use the clouds in the sky...

Nan, I love that pattern on your dishes.
Copycat- thanks for the tip. I never thought of cookie cutters! How cute would they look on a Christmas themed quilt?
