I know my husband is one of them and being given even a quilt to lay over them reminds them of being in a coffin draped with a flag! Which causes MAJOR setback in recovery from this horrible disorder.
Moda should have a little tack and realize this or at least ask questions first.

Sorry for my interruption I am sure many of you will send blocks anways, just wanted to put the truth out there!
If I'm reading the directions correctly this will just be a red/white/blue star quilt. Doesn't resemble a flag to me except for the colors. Unless the picture on page one is the pattern for the flag of valor they will be making.

I also ran across this while playing around the other day. I'm taking it to my quilting group this week. Great idea.

I agree; it's a quilt made of stars, doesn't resemble a flag to me. Just because it is red, blue, and not even white, but a neutral.

My quilting group is going to do a block each in addition to the Quilts of Valor project we are doing.

What a wonderful project for all of us to get involved with.

Thanks for the information, Mary Anna. Just printed it out and will dig out my box of red/white/blue fabrics.

Thanks for the link. As a wife of a USMC Vet and a Aunt of a nephew who is on his second tour in Iraq will be making at least 2 blocks.
