Even if the machine doesn't have speed control, it still has an upper limit. Many of the machines today go over 1000 stitches a minute.

I love the speed control...If I want to go flat out I just put it on full. If I want to do some intricate work, I pull the speed right back and it gives me much better control when using the foot pedal...no sudden speed spikes if my foot 'twitches'...lol.

I do like using my machine that has speed control on it for somethings. But as you say. When I am working on something like chain peicing....give me the speed!...lol
