I would like to state again that I have ordered from Kingsmen Quilting Supplies for years and will continue to do so. They are a reputable company. They are dealing with the same frustrations we are with supplies not being available right away. Fabric orders I made from two other companies that are very well known took an inordinate amount of time to be shipped but eventually arrived. I realize some people would cancel and reorder elsewhere but feel Kingsmen is still reliable and not going away. They have no control if vendors are slow to send product to them. They are in the same fix you are-waiting and hoping to get product and fulfill orders asap. We all deserve to devote time to our families and also run a business. Allowing weekends as family time doesn't seem like to much to expect. Saying all this, it would be nice to get a response to your email requests. Maybe see if they will ship the part of your order they have in stock and ship the remainder when available. Again hope your problems are resolved soon.

To a certain extent, I agree, greensleeves, but if they don't have the stock to fill the order, they should either have that noted in the ordering system (many companies don't even let you order if they don't have inventory). As that isn't the case, they should have at least responded to say, "Oops, sorry, we don't have any right now".

The problem I would have with this company is that OP says that her credit card was billed the day after the order was placed. That is a very bad business policy, IMHO, and I've never heard of it being done. You shouldn't be charged until the order is ready to ship. It seems like they are basically using your money while you wait.

I do not know how their prices compare, but I have had excellent service from Wawak, which I'd never heard of until early this year. I only use Aurifil, and have not found a better price anyplace. Orders go out the next day.

I found Signature thread sold by Kingsmen Quilting for same price as paying shipping as their website on Amazon. I have Amazon Prime so don't have to pay extra for shipping. It's the same price and I get the order in three days or less. You are still supporting them by buying from Amazon. I found most companies sell on Amazon.

I have only order from them a couple of times and my orders were to me within a week or so. There is obviously something going on at their end of things for this kind of delay.

Just check the listing (on anything) to make sure it ships or is fulfilled from Amazon. That will mean it's held in stock at one of Amazon's warehouses.

Some sellers use Amazon similar to Walmart's marketplace - they list on the site but ship from the store. That can lead to delays plus it can make returns/refunds more difficult if there's a problem.

I have Amazon Prime, I don't know if that makes a difference but no matter who sells it I get two day shipping and no problem with returns. If the shipping takes longer then a few days Amazon sends me an email asking if I want to cancel the order or wait for a few more days. The returns are easy. I walk into the UPs store or other return places like Kohls and hand them them the item in a bag or as is and the money is posted to my cc before I get home.

Thank all of you for your help. I opened a grievance with a PayPal. And the refund has been made. They stated that they emailed me to tell me one of the thread colors was not in stock. They very well may have. It surely wouldn’t be the first time I didn’t receive an email

If email was sent to your correct email address it would be the spam folder if not in your inbox. If any business does not defend the complaint it really hurts the standing. If they did not submit a copy of the whole email and who it was addressed to then probably did not send it or send it correctly. PayPal would not refund so quickly if proof they did email you about the problem.

Just because you have Prime, it doesn't mean third party sellers who do their own fulfillment will give you fast, free shipping, etc.

You have to verify when you order that the item is Prime eligible, which almost always means fulfilled/shipped from Amazon. There are many sellers who sell on Amazon and if you select a non-Prime eligible item, you aren't protected (because Amazon doesn't control the shipping).

I have my settings to show only Prime products first. When I do order from third party sellers I always check to see if it is fulfilled by Amazon before buying. If you buy straight from third party sellers it's a gamble.
