Learning to paper piece
#31
I too love paper piecing.I just wrote to a favorite designer on Etsy last night asking her if she'll draw up something for me.
I use a tight stitch on any paper I have handy, give it a little pop and it comes right out. A zen sort of peaceful process for me.
I've heard people don't care for it because of too much wastage, but I hardly have any and think of all the threads here with miles of 'what to do with these bins of scraps'...
your work is always wonderful Linda, I look forward to seeing what you make!

I paper pieced several things using different methods. It was time consuming. The last project was a J.N. one and I did find it a bit confusing but managed to finish it. Then I stared at trying to figure out how to quilt it and finally quilted by check. Karen McTavish was the quilter and did an amazing job on it. I found out with the paper piecing to use a shorter stitch as it makes paper removal so much easier, I think I usually used a 1.6 or 1.8 on my machine.
