Ok, someone on another topic mentioned that there were only 116 days left til xmas. This is my first year quilting. Would love to hear of projects you have done in the past for gifts, what worked, what didn't, what your planning for gifts, decorations, etc. for this year. Lets get the ideas flowing! Virg

I am making placemats from all the fabric I had left over after making aprons for everyone last year. I am hoping to make it all from stash with $0 purchases!

I also hope to make 5 of the cute butterfly or other animal quilts someone posted for my 5 grandchildren.

I am making advent calenders for my 3 Grandkids. Just sew up little pockets and use small decorations of ornaments on the pockets. I get the hershey mini bars and tuck them into the pockets.

Well, I had hoped to have the quilt I'm quilting finished in time to give to my husband for our anniversary (mid-Sept.), but that definitely isn't going to happen, so I guess that'll be a Christmas present now!

Also, for my parents, I'm making a family tree wall hanging- it has a tree of life in the center, then there will be a checkerboard border around the outside- alternate blocks in the checkerboard will be muslin and will have all the family member's names on it.

Also have another quilt partially quilted that will be a Christmas present for my daughter, if I can get it done, but probably won't be able to. Maybe her birthday...

OH NO it is coming up TOO fast! :?

Well, I know I will not be doing a quilt(s) because I would have to have it to my LAQ on or before the end of OCT. She always gets booked up, so all quilts have to be thought of and made early.

Anything I do make for gifts will have to be small, quick and thing I can quilt. I guess I better get my thinking cap on.

I will have to watch this post to see if I can get some ideas. ;)

Here is a link to a casserloe carrier that I want to try. I have a store bought one in this size that I use all of the time so I thought this would be a a good gift

I have been making a lot of these bread basket liners as gifts lately & everyone likes them. I put Warm & Natural batting in mine to make them a little heavier.
