Default looking for 'Mug Rug" book

I have a friend (does not live anywhere near me) who has been given a boot box full of scraps. She wants to make Mug Rugs but feels she needs a book for direction. I have tried to help over the phone but she still wants a book. I thought I had seen a couple of different books but as usual when I want to buy one....no where can I find it. Was I just dreaming or did I see such a thing. I figured if I sent it to her it would be the boost she needs to get started.. Anyone know of such a book and where to get it. Thanks and if I am dreaming just let me know. Maybe I will have to draft a couple of patterns for her to start with.

Don't know about a book but there are all kinds of patterns on FreePatterns.com. In fact you can just google mug rug patterns and get more than you can shake a stick at. I've made some and haven't purchased the firs pattern. If she has any templates she can make a mug rug.

I just take any quilt block and make it into a mug rug. I enjoy making them as gifts for others. I like making them in 7" blocks because it is easier to attach the binding then with a 6" block. Tell her to just have fun !!

I have seen pot holder books. They would work for mug rugs too.

Thanks ladies. I was pleasantly surprised at all the mug rugs. I think I will try to talk her into starting with strips or squares. I think she could even handle simple appliques. Thought I would tell her to look at coloring books for simple drawings to applique. As she gets her confidence built up maybe she will try more involved rugs. I really like the pieced and then appliqued ones. Gets me thinking of Christmas gifts for next Christmas. I have about a dozen friends that I would like to make something simple and NOT expensive. I think even the men would use them if it pertained to things they were interested in. (cars, golf, tractors, racing, etc. Thanks again, I had forgotten to google. Don't use this darn computer as much as others. We have pretty slow internet service where I live. They say it's because we are "off the grid" even though fiber optics is under the road in front of the house. They don't want to connect to our homes.. That's AT&T for you.
