My MIL got a 1996 Singer from a thrift shop. I have never had a Singer before. When looking at a completed stitch, the thread is puckered on the bottom (from the spool, my bobbin is a different color). I suspect I don't have it threaded right. It's hard to see the pictures in the manual.

Anybody feel like walking me through it?

It might be easier if we could see the setup. Can you post a pic?

Have you adjusted the bobbin screw?

The medal piece right on top - you need to come around it and then lay it over the nitch - not through the nitch...

I have a version of this machine - otherwise you've done it correctly

In the first picture, I'm not sure that you put the thread through the corkscrew guide above the needle.

The third and fourth pictures show that you have not threaded correctly around the top thread guide. Thread needs to go around the round metal piece before being threaded into the notch.

Missed that - it goes through the corkscrew after you bring it down and before the needle.

If you do not have a manual for this machine, google Single Sewing Machine manual. Singer has literally hundreds of free manual downloads for their machines. I'm almost sure you can find it.

If you don't have one, you're going to need one for many things.
