Default Looking for signature quilt ideas

I want to make a quilt that friends can sign and add encouraging remarks. Any ideas for a pattern?

Eleanor Burns has an autograph block in her book "Still Stripping After 25 Years". I think some people use a simple snowball block. You could probably even use a rail fence and write on the light rails. Search signature quilts on this board and there are other posts about them with good tips. A great one is to make sure you mark the seam allowance or have a template so the writing does not get lost in the seam!

This is called Chimney Sweep or Album quilt block. Barbara Brackman has instructions for the block.

Almost any quilt pattern with a neutral background fabric will work. Falling Charms by the Missouri Star Quilt co. YouTube tutorial has a lot of background to sign on. If you only have a few signatures, do whatever pattern you want and put a neutral fabric on the back of the quilt and they can sign on a label on the back or sign right on the backing.

If you google envelope quilt block, you'll find a lot of varieties and methods for making them -- Missouri Star recently had a tutorial I think was called You've got Mail. I think envelope blocks would make fun siggie quilts-- and if you had a message to include, you could intersperse some "post cards".

Here is an idea I've used.

Jan in VA

CORRECTION:
Instructions in second graphic should read cut snowball 1/2 the SIZE (not side!)....

I've used the pattern Jan in Va shows. You can go scrappy or pick the recipients favorite color. Also did a scrappy snowball for a retiring teacher. The kids got to pick their favorite fabric snowball to sign
