Hold on folks! The more we convince others that FWs are fabulous and supremely useful, the fewer inexpensive FWs there will be for those of us that didn't need any convincing. So...... the FW thing is all hype, best just to take that free FW and post it for sale here for an easy $50 plus shipping. You don't want it cluttering up your studio.

It's a gift you will always use once you start! I love mine...given to me too! I haven't heard on person say they didn't like it. I loved the idea of putting it in a rolling luggage bag. I don't go to classes, but I do go camping. I'd love to take her along. But that means I'd have to have quilt pieces cut and ready to sew together when it's time to go camping. Hmmmm..... LOL!

I was lucky to find a Featherweight that was "born" when I was, and for under $200. These machines can be totally maintained by regular people. No need for a repair person unless you break something major. They're quiet, dependable, and sew almost everything. My regular machine is a Bernina -- which I LOVE! But it is heavy to lug to quilting meetings. It stays in my sewing room, while the Featherweight happily travels along with me. There are Featherweight sites where you can buy maintenance manuals, parts, carrying cases, etc.

I like your style LOL* ;) You're right, who would want a featherweight anyhow? Such a lowly machine...best sell it to one of us. Cheap.
