(This doll quilt came from a small kit I found in my mom's quilting things... she'd bought it at the Smithsonian and never put it together... I'm going to use it as another practice piece for my hand quilting...)
I sue fuseable strips that you can buy by the roll (too expensive) or by the yard. I cut it all into 2" strips and have it all hanging with a clip in my closet & when I need to fuse my batting I just get out a strip and fuse the batting together, simple. :-)

You could also try the new iron on tape that is out for batting.

Not so good if you have a poly batting ... the iron would melt it!

I put the walking foot on my machine and use a long/wide zig zag and sew the pieces together.

I use the Heat Press batting tape as it doesn't make for extra bulk when quilting.

I use strips of fusible interfacing to put the pieces of batting together to use in small items.

I zig zag machine stitch the batting together by butting the edges together.
