    Actually, I don't worry about it. I but them up together and be sure when pinning that pins get placed on both sides here and there and it all comes out good.

    I just hand stitch a whip stitch. But I use a spray baste to sandwich it.

    I use the edge joining foot that came with my machine.
    Just butt the edge of each batting up against the center guide of the foot and zig zag together easily.

    I use the triple zigzag stitch used for sewing elastic onto garments at its widest and it has never come apart as yet.
