Make me like Batik....
#131
At first I was not drawn to batiks...especially the ones that have what I call imprints/stamping on them (like fern leaves or whatever). I do love the ones that look like watercolors what I call the old fashioned batiks. There are so many ways to use them to create many different effects in quilting. Being such a traditional quilter it did take me awhile to warm up to them but once I did there was no looking back.

I finished a quick quilt this week-end made up in batiks and wanted to share. You can find it at http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-102648-1.htm

I like how the colors blend and create different looks depending on how you look at them. You can take 5" blocks and make the coolest twister blankets ever and no two ever be the same. You can cut a batik into pieces and not find the same color, it creates a unique perspective of color.
