LOL...I don't think I could get my sewing machine to stay on my wall...
But I know you really meant your husband made you a "wall" for pinning into etc.
That's my next project but right now I'm trying to make a sewing machine cut-out in the insulation and build up my sewing table surface.
Thanks for the laugh.
lol, I thought the same thing, on the wall?

I finished fitting the foam and vinyl after work today.
Looks great.
If I can figure out how to get the picture onto my computer I'll post it.
It uploaded to KodakGallery but not my hard drive.
grrr.

I've noticed alot of static near the needle after moving the quilt around. Not good for a computer sewing machine.
I took a dryer sheet and rubbed it around on the vinyl and on the spool of thread.
Seems to work, although I have to repeat it every 1/2 hour or so, depending on how much moving around of the quilt I do.

Good job, Karen-looks like it will work well. I haven't had the problem with static but will watch for it. Thanks for the heads-up. I still wish mine was wider (mine is just like yours only pink) but I use my ironing board to help support the quilt.

I wonder if I'm getting static because the vinyl is a shower curtain? Would the kind of vinyl off a roll be different? I mean, except for thickness, clear vinyl is all the same isn't it?
P.S. this shower curtain has weights in the hem. I left them there and that part of the vinyl hangs over the back edge of my table. It seems to help keep it laying flat.

If you can put a humidifier in the room, that should help.

I have a static problem with the mats on my Accuquilt and did not find that the dryer sheet method helped appreciably. Last time I dipped a washcloth in water, wrung it out, and put some liquid fabric softener (Downey) on the cloth. I rubbed it over the plastic and let it dry. That helped a lot and seemed to last.

Oh that's a good idea.
I'll try that too if I get a chance to sit and quilt for more than 20 or 30 min. at a time...lol
