Is there anything to make rulers non slip around the house or do you buy the things in quilt store?

I back all my rulers and acrylic templates with Omnigrid's InvisiGRIP. For added measure, when I think I need it, I will also attach a Gypsy Gripper to the top side of the ruler. I've heard about some quilters using rug backing material to keep their rulers from sipping but I could never figure out how you could successfully cut when your ruler wasn't lying completely flat against the fabric.

I use post-it label roll. Just tear off a piece and fold it on itself and place on the ruler anywhere you want. This works like a hot darn, is cheap, easy to apply and remove.

I put Invisigrip on the back of my rulers and it does help.

I use the little sandpaper dots that you can buy.

I use the non- slip/skid shelving. I just cut a strip and place it length wise or width wise across the material under the ruler. Strip may only be about an inch wide. Just move the strip around. I usually keep the non-slip toward the outside 1-1 1/2" of the ruler edge. That way it allows the ruler to lay flat.

This is the best tool you will ever buy: I use it on top of my ruler, the ruler isn't going anywhere. And it's a must for safe rotary cutting. It's not a ruler.

This is what I do too, and I think it helps. They can still slip, but not as much. The Invisigrip doesn't leave a sticky residue on the clear rulers, just sticks to it and it is easily removable too.

I use the grip strips and my ruler NEVER slips anymore. I used to have problems all the time with slipping but since I put grip strips on all my rulers I never have any problems anymore. Nice thing is you can cut them to any size to fit any ruler, half hexie, 60 degree etc. I'm not affiliated with the company I'm just really thankful for their product. And the price is very reasonable.

Haven't tried it - but some say to use regular rubber cement - the office type.
