I found the pattern at www.phillipsfiberart.com/ Typed in bargello and picked patterns and it's about half way down the page. I always wanted to make a mariners compass and this was a wonderful and easy pattern.

Your Mariner's Compass is beautiful. I have one on my Eagle quilt that was my avatar for month's. You said you got your pattern from "Phillip's Fibre Arts" and it was really easy. Mine was done from WedgeWorks 3D Mariner's Compass by Cheryl Phillips and the tool is included in the book. Of course now that I've reread what I wrote, I wonder if it is the same person/people.

That is a beauty! I love the fabrics you chose, the two plainish ones tone so perfectly with the middle one. Your embellishment idea is great, can't wait to see the finished piece. :-D
