Rosy, you are an inspiration! If I lived near you, I'd sure love to come over and play with you. And I'd be glad to share my scraps with you any time! Can't wait to see the finished product -- and by the way, I think it's neat to see the progress in pic's.

This is how I made my Garbage Can Quilt that was pictured a while back. Some pieces are dime sized all the way up to fat quarter size. Just sewed & sewed & sewed until it was an oversized king spread used on queen bed. J J

I am a remnant buyer because I never could see a project on a bolt but could visualize tons of stuff out of a remnant. See how minds run so different.

Online Attached are 3 pics of my Garbage Can Quilt.

Named because my neighbor had a yard sale
and put the material in her garbage can, I
retrieved it and made this quilt.

It was originally for my King size bed which I
sold and now makes a bed spread for my
Queen bed.

It is Super Sized 105" x 120".

What elite neighborhood was this garbage can in? Your quilt is grand and quite fun to look at. Also it reminds me of my Grandmother and her quilt of many colors. I admire the quilters of today and their artistry but I love the quilts of yesterday w/ memories of the hand work etc. Each stitch among thousands were placed with care.

Thank you ladies for all your compliments. I love to quilt and I love to share ideas, it's a great high. I love the garbage can quilt. It's wonderful when it's found and free lol.

Did I mention that I am not buying fabric for a long time? Did I also mention that the S&C are more fun? lol. I have a good supply of stash but get great satisfaction from the S&C. I will work on that last block tonight as today was a bit busy. I was invited to a wine and cheese and cookies and special cakes and special chocolate tasting, straight from Paris France lol.

My GF went and came back with the goodies and layed it out for a few of us close friends. I dont' drink wine but did justice to the rest of the stuff lol. Friends are great arent't they. We must make it a point to make as many of them as possible. We can start here lol.

I think I am on a sugar high. I have too much energy for this time of night lol.

I love the colors and the freedom in putting it together. Thanks for showing it.

It just amazes me the things people throw out rather than give it away.
Your quilt came out beautifully!! I wonder what your neighbor's reaction would be if she saw what came of her trash? :-D
