I like Kona best but use have used most other brands also over the years. I always wash first so most problems are taken care of before I use them. When Kona has my color that is always what I buy.

I have always preferred Kona cotton since it is more accessible for me to buy. I have used it since it first came out. I only BUY from LQS to get the best quality. Too bad someone doesn't invent a spray starch that will keep the fabric from unraveling the cut edges.

The Kaufmann people have confirmed that there is only ONE quality of Kona cotton no matter where you buy it. I have heard people say that Joann's will reuse Kona cardboard bolts and wrap a different brand on them which they should not do.

I use a lot of Kona Snow and Kona White for my English Paper Piecing projects... yards and yards for a queen sized quilt. I don't feel that it frays at all. I 60 degree diamonds and never have a problem with fraying, even with all the handling required for EPP.
When I do use Kona black, I'm always surprised how much lint sticks to it.
