Default More Ruler Chat -- Your Favorite Ruler

I found this thread really fun to read, Fess Up! What Ruler Did You Buy? , but let's follow up with what is your favorite specialty ruler?

I know you only really need a square ruler to quilt, but the specialty rulers are a lot of fun! I use my Simple Folded Corners ruler by Doug Leko all the time. The diagonal lines are perfect for trimming HST. I seem to always be making Dresden Plates and I love the extra large Dresden Ruler by MSQC.

Stripology. I use this and my 6 x24 the most.

Hmmm, that’s a harder one. For cutting, I use my 3X18 the most. For ruler quilting, my little straight edge that my husband got cut for me from plexiglass.

    6x24 Quilters Select.
3x18 but it’s not QS (paid $1 at garage sale)

I see that you asked about specialty rulers. My favorites are the CG ones for ruler cutting. The 6.5 x 24.5 is most used including ruler folding fabrics. The smaller ones 3.5 and 4.5 x 12.5 are all on the table too. The round ones are great for cutting corners on bags or pillows.

I couldn’t do without the large square rulers for squaring up quilts.

Love the flying geese rulers from Eleanor Burns. There is also a set to use for scallops, ribbons, and curves. They are seldom used but still a favorite. Guess, you could say ruler junkie here.

My Quilt in a Day log cabin ruler. It makes cutting all those pieces so easy.

Quilters Select rulers and Marti Michell Log cabin rulers! While I’ve only made 2 log cabin quilts so far, my goal for next year is to make at least 1 or 2 more, it’s one of my favorite blocks to make. Her rulers make it quick and easy and they come out perfect every time.

I've never really used specialty rulers.

I do have almost every size square from 2 1/2 to 12 1/2" to square up blocks.

I love having the exact ruler for the specific cuts. If a pattern calls for a specialty ruler I get it. My favorite shape is the 60 degree diamond in all sizes. Also the degree rulers. One I use a lot is the 30 degree triangle from Fat Quarter shop. Also the fat wedge ruler from Me and My Sister. I have so many it's hard to say my favorite.
