Looks so cute. Love it! I'd keep it just like this.

Are you intending to make all nine different? How about a tower with a girl in the window dropping a braid of embroidery cotton hair? A castle with a dragon on or in it (using dragon printed fabric)? A turret nearly buried in vines?
A walled garden? A pumpkin coach? Red Riding Hood on a path in the foreground with a castle far in the background?
A castle topped with crenellations would be fun.

Thumbs up Castle help

How about appliqué some vines, sun, moon, birds, or have a night time sky? I think the block is better the way it is instead of symmetrical. Great job!

If you are squaring your blocks upon completion, press first, and them measure to be sure you will have 1/4 inch seam allowance from the point. Very pretty block.

Some ideas:

Small ribbon sewn on and tied to look like bows on the turrets
Embroidered flags (I would do the initial on for center block)
Applique flags
Beads/Buttons sewn on like a weathervane, can get special buttons for that
Instead of the top of turret, you could sew on small lace at the part where the top meets the column
....that is all I can come up with right this moment. But you could easily embellish each of the 9 blocks differently. Let your imagination run wild, or if your daughter knows about this, get her to help she might enjoy embellishing her special quilt
wow, cute ideas! I'll holler to you if I get stuck on a project, lol

OP here.....thank you for ALL of the wonderful suggestions! I have 4 castle blocks made-different fabrics, but all are purple and pink. Added a bit of lace , a few tiny felt flowers in a window, etc. I don't want to get too carried away with embellishments-luckily, my grands all use and love their quilts, which requires lots of washing! But you have come up with some wonderful suggestions for a future project! I want to make a total of 12 blocks, then add some sashing with tiny pinwheels as corner blocks. I will post pic when this is finished....hope it doesn't disappoint you!
