My First Attempt at Quilting

Well.. I think it's lovely this way...
I enjoy making the same thing several times, just changing something about it each time... helps me begin seeing more ways of doing things... and opens my imagination to other possibilities...
Just relax and have fun with it...

Great first project, the suggestion I have is to use a single sashing between the bird squares. Also, the greens are close together.
another hint would be to make a design board. there is a different perspective when laying out a quilt on an upright board.

I have been a nervous wreck just cutting the pieces out! Any suggestions on this piece? You won't hurt my feelings. A few of my main questions are....is the purple fabric too bright?....should I "break up" the ivory 4 corners with a coordinating ivory with color?....and also, I was planning on yet another border around each bird panel in it's own color, but now I am thinking that would be too much?
Suggestions?
Thanks!
