Could it be that your LAer realized how difficult the work was and recognized the effort you put in? Combine that with your presentation and you definitely deserve the accolades..............now where's the picture? We want a picture!!!!!!

    Enjoy!

I fully agree. It's a very gracious response to anyone who expresses favor towards your work. That type of attitude shows you have pride in your work and neither gloat about it nor belittle it.

It's a BOM and it's all stars in a star motif. It's Civil war so it's not really colorful so if I show a picture, no one will be impressed. My quilt shop owner calls Civil war fabric "muddy" and I think I will disappoint everyone if I show a picture of a "muddy" Civil war BOM king quilt.

Here's (for me) the best and easiest method for making perfect flying geese! Many of us love it!

My quilt with all the stars with all the flying geese that I can't do right. The flying geese that are distorted after I sew them. I always have to fugde them so much to make them fit. I hate flying geese. This quilt was a Civil war BOM and it had 12 star in a star blocks. So, you can figure I had to make a ton of flying geese and not one turned out right. It is a king size quilt. I jazzed up the back of it a little. I cut every thread on the quilt and pulled every stray thread. I ironed the heck out of it. I folded it oh so nicely. But it wasn't 1/4" seams because of the dang flying geese. I had to fugde sooooo much throughout the whole year. I cussed every single month I did the blocks. I even had two borders that each had stars in each corner....8 more stars....more flying geese. And she raved about my quilting. Is she mad???? I was speechless by the time my quilt shop owner got done telling me how much she loved my quilting and how great of a quilter she thought I was and how much she enjoyed quilting my quilt. I know me. I'm not very good. What is going on???? Is it because I cut all the threads and ironed it so well and when I jazzed up the back, I made sure it all matched perfectly? Could that be it? I'm stumped?
Could it be that you are really just a very good quilter and are being way too hard on yourself. Can't wait to see pics. of the finished product. Hooray for the nice compliments!!

Poppycock! There were multiple BOM quilts hanging at the judged and juried national quilt show I was at yesterday, several of them in CW repro fabrics. Not a single one was disappointing.

Your anticipations about this quilt have, thus far, all been proven wrong. Why should the ones you have about posting it's photo be any different? Show it to us and let us make up our own minds. Show your pride!

We are our own worst critic! I'm with you when it comes to flying geese. I purposely signed up for a BOM that had geese in every block just to see if I could overcome my fustration; just finished block #10 and still not an expert. But they did come out pretty good. Can't wait to see your quilt!
