Congratulations on your new baby! Apparently my Juki98Q is the one lemon in the bunch. Ongoing tension issues. Thankfully it's a backup machine for me.

Woo Hoo! I LOVE mine, oil it every day I use it and have not touched the tension dial since I bought it mid January. To me, this machine is all MAN... I started calling him Jake but now we've settled on Mr. Juki (he deserves the extra respect!).

I am getting back to daily FMQ practice sessions but to be honest I love walking foot quilting on this machine so much (it has such a gorgeous straight stitch!) that I'm not feeling such a need to learn FMQ as I used to. I'll get there...

I have one too... got it in Nov. for my Christmas present! It's name is... MINE! Ha, ha... I love how quickly you can get a quilt done. The walking foot is wonderful, too, for straight line quilting. I wish I could say I have had no tension problems, but I'm always adjusting... Maybe I got a lemon? Haven't quite gotten the tension balance figured out yet.

have you tried replacing the tension parts? maybe that would help...it's such an awesome machine, it's a shame you aren't able to utilize it's full potential.
