I, too, just bought a Featherweight. It is a 1951 Centennial version and also my birth year. How perfect is that? My wonderful husband let me get it for my birthday at the Cincinnati International Quilt Festival last weekend. My 9-year-old granddaughter has already sewed on more than I have.

One thing I learned about the serial numbers listed is that the date by the serial number is the date those serial numbers were issued to the manufacturing plant even though it may not have been manufactured that date. So, it can be a centennial model and have a 1949 date on the serial number even though the centennial was actually 1951. You will love her. Congrats
