My sister is the Quilt Police....Who knew!

Well.... she came, she read, and I think she may have a small inkling that there are things that can be bent a little, or a bunch!
Her and I may or may not see eye to eye on this totally fun hobby since I have always been a "color outside the lines" person. But hey! At least she is now open to suggestions. Not from me of course, but maybe she'll read some of the tips and tricks that are so abundant on this board.
Y'all are great!

Tell her you are a 'liberated quilter' and don't pay attention to the quilt police ...LOL of which she has become. That might get her attention.
She's new. One day she'll relax and enjoy the process instead of over-thinking it all and 'playing by the rules', which are meant to be broken.

Once she does a scrappy patchwork quilt, she'll forget all the "rules."
Besides, who made up these rules? I love having creative, quick ways to do things, but some would GASP at my methods...however, I do receive compliments on my work, so I guess it works!
Call me a rebel, but I enjoy what I do, and shall continue to do it, smiling the whole time!
PS: A good soak in peroxide will remove all traces of blood from your stash -- don't ask me how I know, just trust me on this one!

On a different note, I like your avatar! I wanted to take a picture of something like it on a Navy base but they wouldn't let us take the picture. Did you use a pattern or is this your original design?
Also where in OR are you? There is a group of us who get together regularly for quilting fun! We even have a retreat the end of Oct you could join us for!

Soooo much a new quilter! She'll learn, given time and interest. I remember informing my Mom, now 89, that there were templates so much better than the cardboard ones she cut and used but I look at her beautiful hand-stitched quilts now and feel humble.
