It's like going to the grocery store, hungry, you just come out with things you really need! LOL
I bought a corner unit, with places for two machines, and the lady gave me an Ott light, cutting mat, ruler used to square up blocks(saw it at a quilt show later for $22) a floor mat. I only paid $100, so I figured I made out like a bandit!!

I have two of them - floor lamp and table top and love them both!!! Have to wait for a sale on the bulbs - floor lamp needs replacement - and boy are they expensive. Worth every penny though!!!!

I found several Ott lamps on Amazon. They didn't seem too outrageously priced. I'd like to look at one "in person" though. We don't have a Joanne's.

Well, I just reread the first message of this thread, and it was Hancock's, not Joanne's. We have a Hancock's. Now I know where to look. It also looks like Hobby Lobby has them. May be a good use for their 40% off coupon. I will be looking at these!! Thanks everyone.

I just replaced the bulb in a floor lamp Ott light which I bought used from another quilter, so I have no idea how long the first bulb lasted. I went to JoAnn's for the bulb, which looks like four short fluorescent bulbs side by side, attached at the short end, with with one plug in the middle. JoAnn's didn't have the bulb, but Lowe's did. It was a $10 bulb, and I don't know if it's a daylight bulb or not, but at least the light works again.

I have the Ott sewing lamp. I set it right by my machine. I DO NOT LIKE IT! Not enough light. So, I have an old lamp and can see sew much better (play on words). I am probably the only one in the world that does not like her Ott light. It is the folding task lamp! I have been looking for a good lamp that will cover the surface I am working on and the working area of my sewing machine. Good luck to Me! Edie

Good for you! Ott lights are the best. I recently got a very small, hand held one. It can easily fit in a purse, and it flips open to light up. I carry it into fabric stores to judge colors of fabric. As you know, the store lights make it difficult to really be able to match colors correctly. Love it.
