I had those calendars and there are sooooo many quilts in each one that are easy. Enjoy your haul.

I think you did wonderfully! I have one of those calendar box calendars and they are great! and the blue cloud material I used in my grandson's quilt. So what did your mom get?

Do what I do, Hey you want to go with me to yard sales, he gets dress and tags along...LOL
I was thinking more along the lines of "you want supper and I want yard sales, get it?"

Or you could tell him yard sales have guy stuff, too!

I've inherited thread off and on, too. All wooden spools go in a jar for display. Then I look for price stickers. Stickers less than a dollar get pitched. Then I just guess. Last summer I threw away maybe 20# of thead that wasn't worth the trouble. I DESPISE THREAD THAT SNAPS!

You did great! I just caution you to do the thread breakage test on some of that thread. Looks pretty old, some of it. The old cotton threads don't hold up as well as the newer threads. So if it breaks easily when you pull it, I would suggest using it for decorating your sewing room, it may not hold up well in seams in a quilt. I have some that was my mother's and some from a deceased neighbor. I have those hanging on an antique thread rack. When I tried sewing with some of it, it kept breaking.
