I haven't named my machine either - but I do pat her affectionately every time I walk past. And 'she' is definitely a 'her'.

My Husqvarna Viking "SE" is named "Essie"....my mom's old featherweight, which I learned to sew on is "Rosie", My great grandmother's treadle is "LULU"...she's a LULU for sure! My serger is "Genie", my little Janome is "Mimi".
My mom used to have an old dressform that she called "Matilda". I name all sorts of stuff as well....I don't think you are alone!
