I named my van "turtle" because it reminds me of a box turtle... but I haven't named any of my sewing machines yet

Of course I name machines, and cars. Doesn't everyone?
Bernina = Bernie the Bolt (You have to be of a certain age and from the UK to remember this - Bob Monkhouse... up a bit... left a bit... fire!).
Husqvarna Viking (a new to me machine) = Vera (kids named this one)
My mums old Harris machine = Harry (original!)
My granny's hand crank Frister and Rossman = Fraulein Fru-Fru (I have NO idea where this one came from...).

Cars: My son has a classic car - Wolseley 1500 in White: he calls it Snow White! My daughter is buying an old VW Beetle called Billy (previous owners called it that). My own Morris Minor is called Daisy.

My husband thinks we are certifiable. He is probably right.

Not much into naming inanimate objects but did end up naming my 830 Bertha. We also named the pool vacumn thing that runs around the bottom of the pool Goofy because before we learned to regulate it there were some really goofy things it would do if water pressure was too high.

I still have fond memories of my daughters car Buford. He was a very beat up Datsun with rusted out holes in the floorboards. He ran forever.
He always passed emissions but I think they just felt sorry for my daughter.
I dont name my machines except when Im mad at them.

Only machine I have named is my Gammill long arm. She is Lucy...as in 'righty tighty, lefty loosey"> I had to adjust her tensions to suit me when I got her , gently used. I said that OVER and OVER and OVER...till the name stuck. She and I are great friends...NOW! lolol

I don't name my machines, yet anyway. My mom named my chev. venture minivan... Jesse. We live in MN and it was named for Jesse Ventura, our one-time governor.
