    I use old plastic place mats, the cushioned ones you get for 50 cents new. I also cover with a fabric sleeve and remove to wash.

    I used plastic canvas in a tote for diapers, has ben washed several times with no problem.

    I bought one of those foam board sheets at the dollar tree and cut it down to size and put fabric over it. It works good.

    Try one or two layers of plastic canvas cut to size. You can make a fabric sleeve out of the fabric you are using for the lining. This works very well and can be removed before washing your bag. :wink:

    Or cut a clean gallon mikcarton to the right size and use the fabric sleeve idea

    I use my old cutting mats for bottoms of purses. Cover with a sleeve...also, round the corners before covering.
