need help determining number of strata for bargello circle
I am doing a 40 inch diameter round bargello tree skirt with 18 fabrics. how many strata do I need to make? I couldn't sleep tonight and the math is making me crazy. and what is best cutting method?
I will make 1-1/2 inch strips from 18 different fabrics then sew a strata together. This should make a nice flowing circle with a 10 degree ruler and 36 wedges.
what I am having trouble with is do I alternate the 10 degree ruler (cut a wedge from the bottom, then the top). then rotate the tube by one piece?
or do I simply use 10 degree ruler cut, rotate the tube. repeat?
I am so confused?
thanks in advance for the help.

WOW! Thanks for the link! Have bookmarked it, but won't get to it after the holidays! I'm in need of a great looking tree skirt!
