You can easily convert the pictures you've already taken to black & white using Paint.net. It's free to download & fun to play with. I use it often for printing black & white pictures on fabric.

Here are your fabric arrangements so far. I think the 3rd is the best.
Plus 8 & 9 are so very close in color and in value, that if this is the number of fabrics you need, I'd replace one of them and get another value in there between 8 & 5 in the last photo like someone suggested.

I'm reading this thread and laughing because I was the one saying at the beginning about how cool it is to have all these people to help you make decisions and by the end, Tabsmonsters must be thinking 'leave me alone people, enough help' with the multitude of suggestions. :-D :-D :-D

I LOVE converting the picture to black and white. That was genius!

I went to Friendly's for Sun. breakfast a while back and they had the "3-D" glasses (like the old ones--made of cardboard with the red paper lenses. I happened to have my photo album out-it is very colorful large dots of many colors. The glasses made the color disappear and the dots became light, medium, and dark grey--the color values. A really quick way to grade by values!

I have a couple of those fabrics (#1 and #8). I wish I had more of that #1. I used most of mine to make a bathroom curtain. Darn! I'm about ready to pull it down and rip it apart into fabric again!

BTW, I don't have a clue about the arrangement but what the others say is fine with me. Those are such pretty fabrics.

I love the colors. Show us a pic when done. I have been to try one but it is a little difficult.
