Personally I would just sew them and not worry about it. Have fun making your scrappy quilts.

you might try laying them out on paper and spray starching them.

as above, I would sew and not worry to much. Be careful when ironing that you don't pull/stretch the rows.

As long as they are the same size, it doesn't matter. Just be careful with those on the bias so you don't distort them. Once they are sewn to the neighbors, it won't matter.

I would just sew them as they come, being that small you should not have a problem. :-D

Can I tell you a secret...? Just between you me and...uh...well, everyone?

I don't even know how to tell if I'm cutting on the straight grain properly. Seriously. I've never even tried to do it...as long as it's even, I don't care.

Soo...I'd just sew 'em up! :D

Just an idea....the 2 1/2 squares I believe are the perfect size for the "windows" of the cathedral window blocks if that pattern at all interests you. Check out the Cathedral Windows Tutorial by Eddie here on the board.

Maybe make sure that the bias cut blocks are sewn to the straight of grain ones? You can make them in sets, with the bias blocks in the center :D:D:D

What she said.. The blocks will be so small and you will quilt over the sandwiched quilt that it wont matter if the squares are on the grain or not... Make it scrappy, have fun and enjoy finishing what you mom has started..

    No quilt police here!!
