    I love your quilt and if it were mine, I'd use the matching pink thread to do an outline stitch about 1/4" from your stars and the pink squares rather than SITD. This would pull the star design out into the white area and be easier than stitching in the ditch. If you feel you need more quilting than that, then I would do another row 1/4" inside the stars and the squares and also another row outside the first row further into the white.
    This quilting would reinforce your stars and make them the "star" of your quilt.

    Nice quilt! I'm just a beginner in the quilting part so I would match my thread to the fabric - my mistakes don't show as much.
