AliKat, I started a bag of small scraps just for that reason - I think I read that suggestion on this Board. What size do you make your pillow slips?

My original idea was to cut up my practice pieces for filling as well. But I think using them as whole pieces would be better. Thanks again, all

My son is in the hospital recovering from a major surgery. The nurses here use pillow sized mats under his head, so much nicer than the rough hospital pillow cases. Some are just regular flannel, two layers sewn together, but some look to me like free motion quilting practice pieces.

RST, hope the recovery goes well. It didn't occur to me that hospitals may need these pieces.
