Default Need a little help on RxR

I've decided my row by row quilt is too long and need some width added to it, so I have this fabric left over. Do you think if I add that pink for a border and then the house fabric to the left of it, it will look balanced/unbalanced? I really didn't want to add to the right side, but need to know what you think. Any other ideas/suggestions how to make it wider and still look good would be appreciated. Thanks. I sure would like to finish this up; another ufo.

I think I would add pink on both sides and split the house fabrics into the same widths on each side and keep the quilt balanced. Just adding on one side, in this case, just doesn't look good to me. It totally looks like an afterthought.

I prefer symmetry so it wouldn't work for me. But it's your quilt and if you like it then it's OK. The pink definitely works.

I am a symmetry fan as well..but that doesn't really matter, as it is Your quilt. My concern is that the "house" fabric would take away from your already beautiful design.

I don't think the house fabric is right for your RXR but I'm sure you could find another complimentary fabric that would help you extend the borders on each side.

I agree. I would use a blender to add borders, rather than another design fabric. Let your border "frame" the busyness of the RxR. What you have in the picture, competes with what is in the rows. IMHO

I think blenders would preferable to the house fabric for extending the size of our quilt. Do you have some of the fabric you used in the body of the quilt? One or more of them could be incorporated into an interesting border. Borders serve many purposes but they are always intended to appear to be a part of the overall design. Please show us your final decision because we know it is your quilt and you are the one to be pleased.

I think the houses are too busy with your rows, maybe something a little quieter, just my opinion.

I think you can work with those fabrics, but I agree with it having to be symmetrical.

Perhaps it's the photo making the colors clash somewhat, but I agree with the comments regarding symmetry and blender borders.
