Need Old Singer Advice - Quick
#27
The old sewing machines are great. Now that you have it, check online for a local sewing machine repair shop to get a replacement bulb for the machine. They can check out the machine for you (if you are not comfortable doing it yourself) and let you know if there are any problems with it.
Other than the wiring and belts most older sewing machines are pretty dependable. These days there are attachments for all the old machines that can make the machines do almost anything you want to do (including zig zag and buttonholes) - just no fancy stitches.
Congrats on your new machine and have fun using it!

Holy Catfish! Consider yourself very lucky. I found a 15-90, paid $113 and was just tickled to death to get it for that price, so you stole yours. If you hadn't posted that you already had gotten it, I was going to say "RUN" don't let it escape.
