Thank you for our all for your great ideas...all I have to do now is choose an option! Will post a pic of the finished project. Now I have to figure out how much fabric I have for the outside border.

I like QuiltyE's idea of using all the blocks: four on point vertically, then three on point vertically next to the first column, followed by another four on point vertically. You can then fill in the other spaces with blocks made from the other fabrics you have.

If you have 11 blocks, think in vertical rows. do a 4, 3 and 4. Without sashing, this would be approx. 72" x 54". With sashings and borders, it could be a good sized top. I would then take the center row (the 3) and add extra sashings or whatevers to make fill out the additional 18" (works out 6" per block, 3" per side - not too much). If you have a bunch of the additional fabrics, you could get creative and so small blocks (1 1/2") or a piano style, or just strips. PLease be sure and post whatever you decide to do.

you may have to find a fabric close in color for another background. I hope you do. They are lovely blocks. good luck.

It seems that you don’t have a big 18 inch piece of the background fabric, but do you have enough in small pieces to be able to create a square? It looks as if you wouldn’t need huge pieces because the lovely Dresden covers most of the square. Alternatively (and I have no idea of a layout! All of the suggestions about going on point or alternating rows sound excellent), you could make a “reverse” square or two. What I have in mind is perhaps a pale green background that has a similar look to the current white background or you could go wild, with that dark green lattice fabric. You could change the Dresden’s petals to a paler palate. I

11 sliced in quarters would be 44, probably some really cute designs could be worked out of that.

I'd buy at least a yard of the fabric from MDG. I realize that not all whites are equal if they aren't from the same bolt, but I'd give it a try. You can always use the white on white somewhere if it doesn't work for this. For about $15.00, it would be worth a try for me.

If it doesn't match well enough to use on this project, you can go with one of the other ideas. I wouldn't want to slice and dice those beautiful blocks, though.
