Can't add any more about fabric selection, but maybe you could use the gridded fabric with one or two of the others for the backing?

Your quilt pattern tip is ideal. Can't wait to see the finished product.

I personally liked the small gridded fabric because it had a different scale, but I agree most of what you started with are lights so you still need more darks. Unless you scattered in the new fabrics in a larger chunks to make the impact you need and did just smaller bits of the lights. Like maybe a snowball block? For me the larger leaf print is too much the same as the one with the lines in it. If it were me I'd pick only one of those and pull out the other. But these fabrics should make a lovely fall quilt. I know what it's like to want to use from your stash and not have to buy much new. Been there! Good luck with your project.

I would go with the rusty brown, green and a golden yellow, I agree with Nammie to 7 it needs more of a color combination. Pretty fabric.

Your rust, gold and green that read as solid, look like they could work. Otherwise, I might look for a dark brown or more gold.

Totally agree..orange would my first thought. You might even try to squeeze some yellow in too.

I think blended rust would work good with these other greens!
