I've got the little toy Singer all threaded and ready to go. But when I sew the Chain Stitch, the thread will pull out easily. The Chain Stitch itself is pretty. I threaded the needle from left to right because that seemed to be how the last thread guide feed it. Boy is it hard to thread!! All the manuals I've found are expensive compared to the fact that I paid very little for the machine.

Any suggestions?

Chain stitches need to be tied off at the end of the seam. Think of them as being like chain crochet...

So do you sew past the fabric edge and manually tie it off? I feel so dumb.

I did realize that it threads from right to left. My DGD was here and kept saying "Nana, when can "I" sew?" I felt so unworthy!! :)
