You might want to think of a scrap chaos crumb quilt.. It isn't a pattern, it has all kinds of color..and it follows nobody's rules but your own.. I'm in the middle of piecing five.. I'm making them as a unity poject for my staff..As I'm doing it, I'm discovering different color combos, and am having a blast doing it.. The best part? I'm doing the five for under $200..

I have been working on an unusual quilt this past year and have had many people show interest in taking ideas and making their own 'story' quilt.
what about making a list of the favorite things about your daughter and then find material or applique or blocks that represent those ideas.

    Just ideas...

This is a Terry Achison (sp) pattern below. It's out and current. There's a book and templates IN the book. This is just BEAUTIFUL made up from batiks! Should be able to find it in most any quilt store. The woman at the LQS said it was not hard to make at all.

I believe this quilt (heck...the photo may have come from in here..lol) was made almost identical to the book cover.

This is like my daughter. I showed her some pictures of quilts recently that I love like the tried and true churn dash or bear claw and she didn't care for any of them. :-(

I think the envelope quilt is cute and unusual.

This was a little different for me than what I usually do, but it really turned out nice. I found it to be a little non-traditional. The pattern is called Labyrinth by Calico Carriage Quilt Designs.
