New Hobbs Wool/cotton blend batting..anyone use?
#1

I love Hobbs Wool batting, and use it in my special quilts, but now I see that Connecting Threads has a Hobbs wool/cotton blend batting (80% cotton, 20% wool) on sale. Has anyone used this and what do they think of it? Does it give a bit more loft and warmth than the regular 80/20 cotton/poly blend battings?

I have used it and like it OK-- as for warmth, vs. The cotton/ poly blend-- polyester doesn't breath-- wool does. The wool, cotton blend is lighter weight and I think a bit loftier than the cotton, poly. As for the warmth factor... I don't know... Polyester holds in the heat-- since it doesn't breath... Wool is warm too... And breaths so I think is more comfortable

I don't think that JAF is carrying Hobbs batting for the last year or two. There is no LQS near me so I have to rely on getting things inexpensively on the internet. Just bought a roll of 120" wide Hobbs 80/20 cotton batting. I figured I will be able to get 30 charity quilts done with that roll.

Hmmmm, I have loved Hobbs battings since I lived in Texas 1982-2000. But I've never heard of a wool/cotton blend from them. As a matter of fact, I went to their website immediately and could not find any mention of this product. I think maybe CT has made a typo error.

Nope, not a typo, Jan. CT has a photo of the package and it clearly says Cotton Wool Blend.
